Our History

ESPO's Origination

Gene Esposito Sr. was born in Chicago in 1938. After graduating from Tilden Technical and serving in the military, he enrolled at Illinois Institute of Technology, studying Engineering. Once he earned his degree and worked as an independent contractor, Gene founded ESPO Engineering Corporation in 1965, helping other technical contractors find employment.

In 1985, after several years of successfully serving contractors and clients, Gene moved ESPO’s corporate office to Willowbrook, IL, where it currently resides. With years of growth, ESPO Corp expanded to include an in-house design and drafting center as well as ESPO Systems. Gene Sr. retired in 2000 and Gene’s son, Gene Esposito Jr., succeeded the role of President and CEO of ESPO Corporation. Today, Gene Sr. enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and fishing, and is still actively involved with ESPO as a consultant.
